Sapling is the vision of Amber Norton-Knight and Cameron Anderson, whose shared love of art, architecture, landscape and regional living shaped the retreat from the beginning.
The idea for Sapling developed over many years, as Amber and Cam returned to this special site and imagined what an off-grid luxury stay could become. Amber spent her early career in film and television production before joining her family at Rosby, while Cam is an architect and founder of Cameron Anderson Architects.
Together, they have created a stay that reflects the spirit of Rosby: creative, grounded, generous and deeply connected to the land around it. They love welcoming guests over a wine tasting at the Rosby cellar door and sharing their passion for the Mudgee region.
Sapling is part of Rosby, a property known for its wine, art, gardens and creative culture. Guests are invited to experience more than a beautiful place to stay, with Rosby Wines, the cellar door, gallery exhibitions and sculptures all close by.
This connection gives Sapling a sense of depth and belonging. It is a retreat shaped not only by architecture and nature, but by the creative story of Rosby itself.
Sapling takes its name from Sapling Gully, the valley in which the property sits. The area is woven into local history and storytelling, with connections to Henry Lawson and references to the mine shafts that once marked the landscape.
